Hanoi (VNA) – After one and a half days of active, focused, and responsible discussions, the National Assembly (NA) concluded its question-and-answer (Q&A) session as part of the legislature’s 9th sitting on June 20.

In his closing remarks, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man highlighted that the two main topics selected for questioning were of significant relevance, directly impacting macroeconomic stability, people’s livelihoods, and the country’s long-term development.

The session saw 97 deputies speak and 17 legislators debate. Joining the Q&A were Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan; and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong. Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also took part, delivering clarifications and directly responding to deputies’ questions on behalf of the Government.

The NA leader underlined that the questions raised were timely and hit on issues of real public concern. The discussions were frank, constructive, and conducted in a spirit of high responsibility, he said, adding that most deputies used their time efficiently, posing concise, focused questions that called for clear, actionable answers.

Many of the concerns focused on regulatory frameworks and practical issues, reflecting a strong desire for continued reform and effective policy solutions that ensure fast, sustainable development and meet public expectations. The ministers responded candidly, with a strong grasp of their portfolios, avoiding evasive answers, and making clear commitments and proposals for the future.

Summaries and conclusions were reached for both thematic areas discussed during the Q&A. The NA Standing Committee will instruct relevant agencies to draft a resolution based on the session’s outcomes, which will be presented for approval at the closing session to serve as a framework for implementation and oversight, said NA Chairman Man.

The top legislator urged the Government, ministers, and leaders of sectors to fully absorb the feedback from NA deputies and turn it into real action. He called for meaningful improvements in people’s lives, a stronger domestic economy, and an education system rooted in substance and practical outcomes.

He also pledged that the NA will promote its ongoing supervision, making sure that every promise must lead to results, and every commitment must bring about real changes.

Looking ahead to the NA’s 10th session in October, Man said that the NA will review reports on the implementation of past resolutions on Q&A and thematic supervision, as required by the Law on Supervisory Activities of the NA and People’s Councils.

The top legislator stressed the importance of this “follow-up supervision,” urging government agencies to prepare comprehensive reports and encouraging NA bodies to innovate in evaluating them. Deputies were also asked to st൲udy the issues in depth and prepare for meaningful follow-up questioning./.
