Ben Tre (VNA) – National AssemblyChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan presented Tet gifts to poor households in the MekongDelta province of Ben Tre on the threshold of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festivalon January 17.
She also attended a ceremony to hand over four primary schools, two health carestations, nine rural transportation works to the local government of Giong Tromtown in Ben Tre’s Giong Trom district.
At the ceremony, 100 newly-built houses werealso presented to the poor in the locality. All facilities are worth over 33.7billion VND (1.49 million USD) funded by the Vietnam Bank for Industry andTrade (Vietinbank).
The leader also paid a Tet visit to the Military Headquarters of Ben Tre whereshe expressed her hope that the headquarters will continue collaboratingclosely with the local Party Committee and government in fulfilling allsocio-economic tasks and ensuring security and defence in the locality.

She handed over 100 scholarships of the Vietnamese Children Sponsoring Fund tochildren living in the province’s social sponsoring centre. She visited andpresented scholarships and gifts to local ethnic minority people in Ia Phicommune, Chu Pah district.-VNA
