NA Standing Committee’s 9th session to begin on April 17

Hanoi (VNA) – The ninth meeting of the 14th National Assembly(NA) Standing Committee will take place from April 17-22 in preparation for theNA’s 3rd session to be held in May.
Duringthe event, lawmakers will discuss the second and third revision to the Law onSupport for Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises, Law on Planning, Law on Useand Management of State Assets (revised), Law on State’s Law on StateCompensation Liability (revised), and Law on adjustments and supplementationsto several articles of the Penal Code No.100/2015/QH13.
Thestanding committee will deliberate the 2018 law and ordinance making programmeand adjustments to the 2017 programme, as well as a project on workingpositions of the Supreme People’s Court and the appointment of members of thenational council on judge selection and supervision.
AGovernment report on thrift practice and anti-wastefulness in 2016 and a reporton the implementation of food safety laws and policies during 2011-2016 willalso be put on table.
Specifically,a question and answer session will be conducted on April 18. The first partwill focus on policies for people who rendered service to the nation, vocationaltraining for the youth and demobilized soldiers and policemen, and themanagement of detoxification centres, with the Minister of Labour, War Invalidsand Social Affairs to be questioned. The Ministers of Defence, Planning andInvestment, Finance, Justice, and Education and Training and the head of theCommittee on Ethnic Affairs will explain related issues.
Meanwhile,the second part will concentrate on the management of cyber information safety andthe censoring of advertisements on mass media with the Minister of Informationand Communications to be grilled. The Ministers of Public Security, Defence,and Culture, Sports and Tourism will give explanations for related issues.-VNA
