Hanoi(VNA) – The 19th meeting of the 14th National Assembly’sStanding Committee closed on December 14 after three working days.

Addressing the closingceremony, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that during the meeting, thecommittee reviewed outcomes of the NA fourth session and discussed preparationfor the NA’s next sitting.

The Committee also assessedthe results of external activities in 2017 and approved a plan for 2018, whilegiving ideas on foreign relations and international cooperation programmes ofsome NA agencies.

The committee’smembers adopted a resolution approving the appointment of ambassadors tovarious countries in the 2017-2020 period, and the Vietnamese ambassador at theUnited Nations.

A resolution wasissued on the formation of Ninh Cuong town in Truc Ninh district of northernNam Dinh province, and another on adjustment of Government bond capital plans inthe 2012-2015 period and 2014-2016 period.

The committee also approvedamendments to a plan for housing support in 2016-2020 to those who renderedservices for the country’s revolution.

A report on monitoringthe issuance of resolutions and operation of People’s Councils of centrally-runcities and provinces, and the Government’s proposal on issuance of supportpolicies for the use of public irrigation services and products were discussedat the meeting.

The committee gavetheir approval on a number of important issues, including the provision of additionalfunding to buy rice for national reserve.

The top legislatorasked NA agencies to coordinate with the NA General Secretary to make publicthe official conclusions of the NA Standing Committee on issues in the 19th meeting’s agenda, while preparing for the 20th meeting of thecommittee in January 2018.-VNA
