NA Standing Committee to hold 34th session from May 8-10

Hanoi (VNA) –The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee will convene its 34th session inHanoi from May 8-10, according to the NA Office.

A press release saidthat during this session, the NA Standing Committee will continue discussingthe draft law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Law onPublic Investment, and start debating the draft Labour Code (revised), andVietnam’s joining the International Labour Organisation’s Right to Organise andCollective Bargaining Convention No.98.

Member of thecommittee are expected to review a report on the settlement of voters’ opinionssent to the legislature’s sixth session, and another on voters’ opinions sentto the seventh session.

They will alsoexchange opinions on the Government’s report on adding assessments on theimplementation of the 2018 socio-economic development and state budget plan,and assessing the implementation of the socio-economic development and statebudget plan in the first months of 2019.

Participants will alsoconsider the allocation of funds from the state budget to local budgets forroad management and maintenance, and the foreign capital supplement of 2019 statebudget estimates for the central province of Ha Tinh.

The NA StandingCommittee is hoped to approve a list of projects using the reserve middle-termpublic investment for 2016-2020 from the state budget, as well as the additionof a new list to the middle-term public investment for 2016-2020; while alsodiscussing the use of 10 trillion VND (431.7 million USD) saved from decreasesin investments for the nation’s important projects under the legislature’sResolution No.71/2018/QH14.

In addition, thecommittee will also consider the establishment of several administrative unitsin the southern province of Dong Nai, including Dau Giay township in Thong Nhatdistrict, Nhon Trach township in Nhon Trach district, and six wards in Bien Hoacity. –VNA
