Beijing (VNA) – Headof the National Assembly Committee for Deputy Affairs Tran Van Tuy has affirmedthat Vietnam attaches special importance to developing stable, healthy andsustainable ties with China, considering it a strategic choice and top priorityin its external policy.

Tuy, who is also deputy head ofthe Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, made the statement duringa meeting in Beijing on December 20 with Vice Chairman and Secretary General ofthe National People’s Congress (NPC) of China Wang Chen.

He spoke highly of NPC Chairman ZhangDejiang’s visit to Vietnam last month, which contributed to fostering thesustainable, stable and long-term development of the comprehensive strategiccooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, as well as ties between thetwo legislatures in the future.

Wang, for his part, congratulatedVietnam on its successful organisation of the 12th National PartyCongress and the 14th NA election.

He said the ongoing visit is afollow-up to the successful one made by NPC Chairman Zhang last month, reflectingthat the two legislatures treasure their bilateral ties.

Earlier on December 19, Tuy metNPC Vice Secretary General Chen Guomin, during which they discussed experienceregarding apparatus, function, authorities and election procedures of the twolegislative bodies.

The Vietnamese delegation isscheduled to visit several Chinese localities to learn about activities of theirPeople’s Councils at all levels.-VNA
