Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) deputies on June 17 morning focused their discussion on adjustments to the investment policy for the national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas in the 2021-2030 period, as part of the 15th legislature's ongoing seventh session.

According to the Government's report, the programme has recorded remarkable results in terms of disbursement, which, however, has yet to meet expectations, particularly that of non-business capital.

A report from the Ministry of Finance also shows that as of the end of March, public investment disbursement for the programme had topped over 2.11 trillion VND (nearly 82.9 million USD), equivalent to 14% of the plan. Meanwhile, the disbursement of non-business capital reached only 38.38 billion VND or 1% of the plan.

Legislators stressed that the adjustments are necessary to address difficulties and obstacles to the implementation work, thus accelerating the disbursement towards achieving the programme's targets set in NA resolutions.

In the afternoon, after hearing proposals and verification reports on the draft revised Notary Law and the draft amended Law on Value-Added Tax (VAT), they will discuss in groups the bill🐈s, and the NA's draft resolution on value-added tax (VAT) reduction./.
