NA Committee urged to improve efficiency of external affairs in new situation

Hanoi (VNA)– Permanent Vice Chairman of the NationalAssembly Tran Thanh Man has asked the NA’s Committee for External Relations to improvethe efficiency of external affairs in the new situation.
Speaking at thefifth plenary session of the committee in Hanoi on June 20, Man spoke highly of the coordination between the committee and theParty Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, the ForeignMinistry and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations since the beginningof 2023, contributing to creating a collective power and positive outcomesin the NA’s foreign affairs.
In the second half of the year, he directed the committee to focus on effectively carrying out the NA’s Party Delegation's action plan on defining orientations for the 15th NA's activities till 2030, and a scheme on external information duringthe term of the 15th legislature.
In particular, thecommittee must pool resources to make thoroughpreparations for the ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, which isto be co-organised by Vietnam and the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Hanoi inSeptember.
Atthe event, deputy head of the committee Le Anh Tuan presented a draft report onthe committee's activities in the first half of this year and orientations for its work in the remaining months of this year, along with a draft scheme on external information during the term of the 15th legislature.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs is to step up dissemination to raise awareness of policies and regulations of the Party and State, contributing to upholding great national solidarity and patriotism of Vietnamese people at home and abroad.
