Budapest(VNA) – Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan arrived at BudapestInternational Airport in Budapest at 17:00 pm of April 8 (local time) for an official visit toHungary through April 11.
Her visit, made at theinvitation of Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Kover Laszlo, aims to furtherenhance the long-standing relations between Vietnam and Hungary as well as the twocountries’ legislatures.
She met with Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly GergelyGulyas later the same day.
Vietnam and Hungaryestablished diplomatic ties on February 3, 1950, since then Vietnam hasreceived support from the State and people of Hungary.
Legislativecollaboration between the two countries has grown positively. Hungarian NASpeaker Kover Laszlo visited Vietnam in November 2015, while Deputy SpeakerGergely Gulyas toured Vietnam in January 2017. Vietnam’s NA leader Nguyen PhuTrong visited Hungary in 2008.
By the end of 2016,Hungary had 15 projects in Vietnam with capital of 50.66 million USD, ranking55th among 105 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.
Most of Vietnam’sexports to Hungary are apparel, footwear, computers, electronic products andparts, transportation vehicles and spare parts, while importingpharmaceuticals, machineries, spare parts, chemicals and animal feed.-VNA
