NA approves draft revised Law on Railway

The National Assembly passed the draft revised Law on Railway with 80.86 percent of votes during the June 16 working session of its ongoing third sitting.

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly passed the draftrevised Law on Railway with 80.86 percent of votes during the June 16 workingsession of its ongoing third sitting. 

With ten chapters and 87 articles, the lawprescribes the planning, investment, building, protection, management,maintenance and development of railway infrastructure. 

It also mentions the railway industry, railwayorder and safety, railway business, rights and obligations of relevantorganisations and individuals related to railway activities, and Statemanagement in the sector. 

The same day, legislators debated the draft Lawon Denunciation (amended), saying the issuance of the revised law issignificant as it creates favourable conditions for citizens to exercise theirrights to denunciation. 

After hearing deputies’ opinions on forms ofdenunciation, Government Inspector General Phan Van Sau said denunciationsreported by email with e-signature and other e-forms with clear information aswell as names and addresses of denunciators will undergo legal processes. 

Some law-makers underlined the need to identifyresponsibility of agencies for protecting accusers.-VNA
