NA adopts resolution on North-South Expressway section investment

Hanoi (VNA)
– With 83.1 percent ofapproval, the National Assembly approved a resolution on investment policy forthe construction of some road sections in the eastern route of the North-SouthExpressway in 2017-2020 at the ongoing fourth session of the 14th legislaturein Hanoi on November 22.

The segments include Cao Bo (Nam Dinh) – Bai Vot(Ha Tinh), Cam Lo (Quang Tri) – La Son (Thua Thien-Hue), and Nha Trang (KhanhHoa) – Dau Giay (Dong Nai) – My Thuan Bridge 2 (Tien Giang and Vinh Long).

The project’s preliminary 118.7-trillion-VND(5.22 billion USD) investment will cover about 654km. Of the total investment,55 trillion VND will be sourced from the State budget and the remaining frominvestors.

The NA entrusted the Government to implement theproject, which is due to be completed in 2021, according to the country’s law.

It must ensure publicity, transparency, efficiency, and equal competition amongdomestic and foreign economic sectors, and prevent corruption, wastefulness andnegative phenomena in the process of implementation and management.
