Hanoi (VNA) - Myanmar’s National Security Advisor Thaung Tun said the country iswilling to take back all 700,000 Rohingya Muslim refugees who have fled toBangladesh due to violence if they volunteer to return.

ThaungTun made the statement at the Shangri-La Dialogue, a regional securityconference in Singapore on June 2.

Violence in Rakhine forced 700,000 Rohingya people to flee intoBangladesh to seek shelter. In November last year, the two countries agreed onthe time for the repatriation of Rohingya refugees and the establishment of anexpert group to supervise the process.

The Myanmar Government set up temporary shelters, which can accommodate tens ofthousands people and built some houses to replace villages where the Rohingyalived.-VNA
