Myanmar: seven died in capsized vessel accident

Seven people died and one is still missing when a motor vessel capsized in a river near May Lun city in Myanmar in the dawn on April 13, according to local authorities.
Hanoi (VNA) - Seven people died and one is still missing when a motor vesselcapsized in a river near May Lun city in Myanmar in the dawn on April 13, accordingto local authorities.

With 61 passengers on board, the vessel, whichwas on a pilgrimage tour from a village in Ann township, Rakhine state toKyauktaw township, capsized in the Min Chaung river near May Lun township as itsmachine’s fan was jammed with fishing nets.

A total of 53 people survived the tragedy.

Rescue work is underway.

Previously, a dreadful waterway accident occurred in a river near the western portcity of Pathein, on April 7, killing 20 people.-VNA
