Most localities to face high UV levels

Most of the localities nationwide will face ultraviolet (UV) levels of “high” and “very high” from August 2-4, the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has announced.

Hanoi (VNA) – Most of the localities nationwidewill face ultraviolet (UV) levels of “high” and “ve🧸ry high” f🐼rom August2-4, the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has announced.

Specifically, during the three days, the UV levels will be highly hazardous from10am to 1pm in such cities as Ha Long (northern province of Quang Ninh), Hai Phong, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. The southern city of Can Tho will be at the “high” level in all the three days, followed by Ca Mau province. People are advised totake extra precautions such as wearing protective clothing, hats, andsunglasses, as well as ensuring hydration for the body./.

Vietna🍌m ramps up plastic waste recycling, reuse, treatment efforts

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.
