Moscow symposium spotlights late President’s career, ideology
A symposium themed “Career and ideology of President Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam and the world” was held in Moscow on September 9 with the participation of Russian researchers, scholars and students.

As part of the activities within the Vietnam-Russia and Russia-VietnamFriendship Year, the event is meant to commemorate the 50th deathanniversary of the President (1969-2019).
Presentations at the event focused on President Ho Chi Minh’s role in Vietnam’srevolution, and his influence on the building of a law-governed state inVietnam as well as the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
They praised the late leader as a great international revolutionist and aninternational cultural activist.
Associate Prof., Dr. Pham Quoc Thanhfrom the University of Social Sciences and Humanities told the Vietnam NewsAgency on the sidelines of the event that the scientific research studies on thePresident’s career and ideology will be published in a book titled “Ho Chi Minhin Vietnamese and global retrospectives.”
Prof.and Doctor of Economics Vladimir V. Mazyrin, who is head of the Centre forVietnam and ASEAN Studies under the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, lauded the President’scontributions to the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.
On this occasion, organisers displayed some books on Vietnam and theAssociation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Russian and English publishedby the Centre for Vietnam and ASEAN Studies.-VNA
