– General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam and General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith co-chaired a high-level meeting between the two Parties in Hanoi on September 11 on the occasion of the Lao top leader’s ongoing state visit to Vietnam.

The two leaders briefed each other on the situation of each Party and country, including Party building and socio-economic development, and discussed international and regional issues as well as matters of shared concern. Read full story

- National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man had a meeting with Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith on September 11 in Hanoi as part of the latter's state visit to Vietnam.

During the meeting, Man expressed his belief that the important visit by the Lao top leader will contribute to further strengthening and developing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. Read full story

- Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Chernyshenko co-chaired the 25th meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation in Moscow on September 11.

– Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended the 9th annual Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Summit in Hong Kong (China) on September 11, at the invitation of Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region John Lee Ka-chiu.

Themed “Building a Connected, Innovative and Green Belt and Road”, the two-day summit drew nearly 6,000 delegates from governments, leading corporations and enterprises across 70 countries and economies. - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh hosted a reception in Hanoi on September 11 for Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki, who delivered a message of sympathy from Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio to his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh regarding the recent impact of Typhoon Yagi.

In his message, Prime Minister Kishida expressed his profound condolences to the families affected by the typhoon, stressing that the Japanese Government stands shoulder to shoulder with Vietnam during this challenging time. – The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission convened its 47th meeting in Hanoi on September 10-11 under the chair of its head Tran Cam Tu, who is also Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee.

The commission concluded that the standing board of the Ha Giang provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and the Party Civil Affairs Board of the provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term had violated the democratic centralism principle and working regulations. They were found to lack responsibility and loosen leadership and direction, resulting in the provincial People's Committee and numerous organisations and individuals committing serious violations of Party regulations and State laws during the implementation of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project./.
