- State President Luong Cuong reiterated the Vietnamese Party and State’s consistent policy of further consolidating and strengthening the great friendship and comprehensive cooperation with the Lao Party and country during his meeting in Vientiane on April 25 with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.

President Cuong congratulated the Lao Party, State, and people on their political stability and positive economic growth, believing that under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) led by Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, the drastic direction of the PM, and the support of the National Assembly, the fraternal country will successfully realise the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress, move toward a successful 12th National Party Congress, and achieve goals its 9th five-year socio-economic development plan. - State President Luong Cuong and a high-level delegation of Vietnam arrived in Hanoi on April 25 evening, concluding a state visit to Laos at the invitation of General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President Thongloun Sisoulith.

This was the first state visit to Laos by President Cuong. The visit took place in the context of robust development of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. - United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt suggested solutions to enhance road safety in Vietnam during a working session in Hanoi on April 25 with the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) and relevant agencies.

Todt shared alarming statistics, revealing that road traffic accidents claim around 1.19 million lives and injure about 50 million people worldwide each year. - Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast reported robust growth in both sales and revenue in its unaudited Q4 and 2024 financial statements, despite global market uncertainties.

In Q4/2024, VinFast delivered over 53,000 EVs, up 143% from Q3 and more than 20 times higher than the same period last year.
