- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam held a working session with the standing board of the Quang Tri provincial Party Committee on October 16 to review the implementation of the Resolutions of the provincial Party congresses at all levels, socio-economic development, national defence-security, Party and political system building.

Lauding socio-economic achievements made by the provincial Party Organisation, authorities, businesses and residents, Lam underlined the local potential and advantages, particularly its strategic transportation links connecting the North-South and East-West corridors. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a delegation of National Assembly deputies of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on October 16 met with local voters who are officials, business owners, members of the Farmers' Association, representatives of agricultural production and business cooperatives.

- Vietnam Airlines has announced that it will increase the frequency of flights between Vietnam's southern largest economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok of Thailand from 3 to 4 flights per day starting December 1, using Airbus A321 aircraft.

With this move, the national flag carrier will operate approximately 50 direct flights per week on routes connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Bangkok. Read full story
