– President To Lam visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Soc Giang border guard station in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang on June 9.

Established in October 1959, the Soc Giang border guard station is responsible for managing and protecting a border section spanning over 20 km, including 55 border markers, and ensuring security and order in Soc Ha and Truong Ha communes of Ha Quang district. Read full story

– Manufacturing enterprises, including small and micro-sized businesses, can leverage e-commerce channels to directly sell goods to international consumers, increasing revenues and market presence, experts have suggested at a recent seminar on boosting Vietnam’s exports through cross-border e-commerce systems.

At the event held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 7, Ta Hoang Linh, Director of the European-American Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that given Vietnam’s deepening integration into the global economy and opportunities from new-generation free trade agreements, the participation in online export-import systems and cross-border e-commerce channels is an effective solution, opening up many chances for Vietnamese enterprises. – The College of Asian Scholars (CAS) in the Thai northeastern province of Khon Kaen and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen launched a new Vietnamese studies centre in the college's campus on June 8.

This marked the second centre of its kind in Thailand, following the inaugural one established at Udon Thani Rajabhat University. It reflects growing interest in Vietnam and its language among Thai citizens, and the ongoing efforts of Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand to promote Vietnamese language learning in Thai educational institutions. - The Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic introduced typical dishes and products of Vietnam to the 7th edition of the Food and Culture Embassy Festival in Prague on June 8.

The largest international street food festival in the city, the event featured over 130 booths representing 55 countries and territories. Read full story

– Total state budget revenue from import-export activities reached almost 165.7 trillion VND (nearly 6.63 billion USD) in the first five months of 2024, equivalent to 44.2% of the assigned estimate and marking 7.4% growth compared to the same period last year.

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs (Vietnam Customs), the five months saw the country’s trade volume amounting to some 305.53 billion USD, up 16.6% year-on-year. Read full story

– The Hai Phong Journalists' Association in collaboration with the Hai Phong Press Photography Club hosted a special event on June 8 to mark the reception of a national flag from Truong Sa (Spratly) and launch a photo exhibition featuring the archipelago.
