- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception in Hanoi on December 6 for a group of esteemed experts and scientists visiting Vietnam for the VinFuture Prize and the 2024 VinFuture Sci-Tech Week.

- Ministries and sectors need to promote the mindset of daring to think, daring to act, and daring to take responsibility for the common interests, with the goal of achieving all 15 out of 15 targets set for 2024 so as to lay the foundation and momentum for next year, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed at the Government’s monthly regular meeting on December 7.

PM Chinh requested a focus on summing up Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, issued in 2017 by the 12th Party Central Committee, which seeks to streamline the political system for greater efficiency; and accelerating the restructuring of the Government's organisational apparatus to make it "Elite - Streamlined - Strong - Efficient - Valid - Effective", with extra efforts needed to complete the work by mid-December 2024. - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, and a high-ranking NA delegation returned to Hanoi on December 7 evening, concluding their official visit to Japan at the invitation of President of the House of Councillors Sekiguchi Masakazu and his spouse.

Within the framework of the trip, Man met with Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, and Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru, and held separate talks with President of the House of Councillors Sekiguchi Masakazu and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Nukaga Fukushiro. Notably, Man and Sekiguchi signed a cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese NA and the House of Councilors of Japan, which is considered a premise to lift their relations to a new height in the coming years. - The Vietnamese Embassy in Iran and Syria said on December 8 that it has requested Syrian authorities to provide detailed information about any Vietnamese nationals currently living, working and studying there amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East country.

- Vietnam's seafood industry is on a roll, with export momentum propelling it toward the 10 billion USD target for 2024, laying robust groundwork for 2025.

As of October 2024, seafood export value had reached 8.33 billion USD, a 12% increase year-on-year. October alone witnessed a remarkable 1.1 billion USD in exports, the first time in 27 months that the monthly figure surpassed 1 billion USD, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. - Vietnam is aiming to improve and develop its Internet infrastructure to align with the advancement of new technologies, while ensuring safety and sustainability, in order to meet the growing demand for Internet usage.

Nguyen Hong Thang, Director of the Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC), said that the Internet is strongly influenced by the rapid development and application of new technologies such as 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI).
