Mohamed Djouadj re-elected as Chairman of African Vovinam Federation
Mohamed Djouadj has been re-elected as Chairman of the African Vovinam Federation (AVF) for the third consecutive term (2021-2025) at its 3rd congress held virtually, according to the Algerian Vovinam Federation.

Hanoi (VNA) – MohamedDjouadj has been re-elected as Chairman of the African Vovinam Federation (AVF)for the third consecutive term (2021-2025) at its 3rd congress held virtually,according to the Algerian Vovinam Federation.
As the head of AVF since 2012, Djouadj is the only candidate and has won thehigh confidence of congress participants, the federation said.
Speaking after his re-election, Djouadj said it was an honour for him to bereappointed for the third term, adding that it is also a testament to the efforts he has made indeveloping this type of sport in Africa.
He emphasised his immediate goal is to be present at all sporting eventssuch as competitions in Africa and internationally, training courses forcoaches, as well as providing support to African countries to develop this typeof martial art.
Chairman of the World Vovinam Federation Mai Huu Tin praised the role ofthe AVF's members in promoting the development of Vietnamesemartial art and leveraging it to the same levels as other martial arts.
The AVF's members also approved the 2022 programme,the admission of new members, as well as the authorisation to host the 2022Africa Vovinam Championships in Senegal, scheduled to take place in Octobernext year.
🌠 Regarding the annual activities of these countries, the federationhas decided to organise three training sessions in 2022 in Côte d'Ivoire, Libyaand Nigeria, as well as graduation exams in Senegal dedicated to martial artists whowant to raise belt ranking./.
Vietnamese traditional martial arts federations have made contributions to strengthening Vietnam – Algeria relations, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to the African country Nguyen Thanh Vinh.
Some 1,620 students from 300 primary, secondary and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City are competing in the third Phu Dong Sports Tournament for the Vovinam Nestlé MILO Cup, which kicked off on June 6 as part of the HCM City Phu Dong Sports Festival.
A photo exhibition on popular landscapes in Algeria and Vietnam was launched in Algiers on October 30 to mark the 59th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations (October 28, 1962 – 2021).

For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.
