The Ministry of Finance (MoF)has asked 11 concerned ministries to join hands in simplifyingadministrative procedures to create the most favourable conditions forimport-export activities.

In particular, the MoF has asked theseministries to review and issue their list of import-export items to besubjected to quarantine to avoid environmental pollution, includinganimals, plants and health care products, as well as toxic chemicals andpesticides.

Upon the request of the MoF, the General Departmentof Customs (GDC) has made every effort to shorten customs declarationprocedures to make it easier for businesses.

In recent years, the GDC finished a draft plan to improve the effectiveness andefficiency of specialised inspections of imports and exports at theborder gates with new features to facilitate and manage import andexport activities. The draft plan aims to set up specialised inspectioncentres at the border gates, where a large volume of imports and exportsneed to be checked every day.

Under the plan, from now till2020, the GDC will focus on building two centres in the cities of HaiPhong and Ho Chi Minh City and three others at mainland border gates inthe northern provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son and Lao Cai.

Customsstaff are required to conduct specialised inspections by usingoptimised processes to get quick and accurate results and shortencustoms clearance time for businesses.

🎃 On the other hand, importers and exporters with specialised goods for inspection should gothrough such centres to make the process quick and easy for them.-VNA
