Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association (JVFA) of Miyagi prefecture Kamada Atsushi handed over 1 million JPY (nearly 6,600 USD) in cash donated by the Japanese locality’s residents to support Vietnamese people in overcoming the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi, to the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan on October 31.

The provision of disaster response skill training for people is critically important to the countries vulnerable to natural disasters like Vietnam so as to create response preparedness for each individual, said Kazuko Kori, Mayor of Sendai city in Japan’s Miyagi prefecture.

A delegation of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Miyagi prefecture learned investment climate in northern Ha Nam province at a working session with representatives of the provincial People’s Committee on February 18.

Miyagi prefecture of Japan will assist local enterprises specialising in producing and processing aquatic products to make inroads into the Vietnamese market.
