Miss Vietnam wins silver medal in Miss Earth swimsuit sub-contest

– Vietnam’s representative at Miss Earth 2018 NguyenPhuong Khanh has won the silver medal in the swimsuit competition.

Khanh also won gold for Asia & Oceania region in the national costumeround on October 11.

Miss Earth is being held in the Philippines with the participation of 94contestants from around the world. In the bikini sub-contest, they competed inthree groups called Fire, Air and Water.

Khanh was a member of the Water Group, which consisted of 28 contestants. Thegold and bronze medals went to Miss Mexico and Miss Bosni and Herzegovina.

Born in the southern province of Ben Tre, 23-year-old Khanh was the secondrunner-up at the Miss Sea Vietnam Global Beauty Pageant 2018 held on Phu QuocIsland in April.

Khanh is currently a student at the Curtin University Singapore, majoring inmarketing, and will graduate early next year.

She is currently standing in second place overall behind Miss Portugal TelmaMadeira.

“It is the first time Vietnam has entered the top swimsuit round of MissEarth,” said Ngoc Tinh, the representative of the Leading Stars Project, theorganisation introducing and accompanying Khanh at Miss Earth, “In these beautypageants, the contestants’ advantages in the swimsuit and national costumecompetitions are important, offering them opportunities to enter the finalrounds.”

“We expected Khanh to achieve something at Miss Earth 2018. She has performedvery well and made great efforts so far,” he added.
