Increasing coordination between ministries and Vietnamese representative offices in foreign countries is necessary to more effectively implement the external affairs policy of active and proactive international integration. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh along with senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry & Trade and the Government Office had a working session with staff of the Vietnamese delegation to the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and other international organisations in Geneva, Switzerland on September 14.
Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh reviewed efforts by diplomatic officials at important international organisations such as the UN, the WTO and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). Deputy PM Ninh said Geneva has numerous activities and playgrounds which require diplomatic officials to be active and creative in promoting Vietnam’s diplomatic activities in the era of integration.
Ninh urged the diplomats to actively and proactively implement the Party and State’s external affairs policy and increase mutual understanding with other countries and promote Vietnam’s image to international friends. The Deputy PM is currently on a working tour of Europe to advance multi-faceted collaboration between Vietnam and economic organisations in the region and beyond.-VNA
