Ministries, localities asked to track domestic, regional situations
The Government has asked ministries, sectors and localities to closely monitor developments of domestic and global situations to devise suitable policies, said Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung during a cabinet press conference on March 1.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Government has asked ministries, sectors andlocalities to closely monitor developments of domestic and global situations todevise suitable policies, said Minister-Chairman of the Government Office MaiTien Dung during a cabinet press conference on March 1.
He said that during the cabinet meeting on March 1, ministries, sectorsand localities were urged to implement measures set in Government resolutionsand their action programmes, as well as Dispatch 240/CD-TTg dated February 21,2018 on implementing tasks after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment should promptly build a growthscenario and submit it to the Government before March 15.
Dung said that this year, ministries, sectors will focus on finalisingsome major projects such as the urban railway, Tan Son Nhat airport and soonlaunch the North-South Expressway. Business conditions and inspection procedureswill continue to be cut, thus assisting start-ups and creating a smoothinvestment environment.
Answering reporters’ question on Tan Son Nhat airport expression, DeputyMinister of Transport Nguyen Ngoc Dong said the ministry will continuegathering opinions on the expansion project and calculating investmentefficiency.
Research on the project by ADPi Engineering from France has beensubmitted to Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung.
Dong stressed the significance of the expansion of the airport amidst regionalaviation development, including the operation of Long Thanh airport in 2025.
Dong added that next week, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung willlisten to reports before leaders of the Government consider the project.
Responding to queries on Export-Import Bank (Eximbank)’s customers moneyloss, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Nguyen Thi Hong saidthe case occurred in 2017. At the end of 2017, police started legal proceedingsin the case. The SBV has directed Eximbank to cooperate with agencies duringthe investigation.
Hong affirmed the SBV’s viewpoint of prioritising the interests ofcustomers, adding that Eximbank has met customers to discuss settlement while awaitingthe court’s judgment.-VNA
