Ministers to be grilled about four groups of issues by lawmakers

Hanoi (VNA) – The ministers of transport,environment, education and social affairs will be the main answerers ofquestions about issues within their remit raised by National Assembly (NA)deputies at the ongoing fifth meeting of the 14th-tenure parliament.

NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NAOffice Nguyen Hanh Phuc said on May 28 that after getting feedback fromdeputies, the parliament decided to choose four groups of issues for thequestion and answer (Q&A) sessions, slated for June 4 – 6.

Questions about solutions to improve transportinfrastructure to ensure traffic safety, especially in big cities, and thesettlement of problems of build-operate-transfer transport projects will begiven to Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The.

Minister of Natural Resources and EnvironmentTran Hong Ha will answer queries about the land management in big cities andthe localities with many complaints and denunciations, environmental pollutionand control of businesses’ waste release, and climate change response measures,especially in the Mekong Delta.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education and TrainingPhung Xuan Nha will be asked about the fact of and solutions to improve tertiaryand general education, the management of preschool education, particularly innon-public establishments, and ways to address moral and lifestyle degradationamong teachers and students.

Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social AffairsDao Ngoc Dung will field questions about Vietnam’s labour market, vocationaltraining, and child care and protection, according to NA Secretary GeneralPhuc.

During the Q&A sessions, the deputy primeministers in charge of relevant fields, other ministers, the Governor of theState Bank of Vietnam, the Inspector General of the Government’s Inspectorateand officials of the State Audit Office of Vietnam will also give furtherexplanation of related problems.-VNA
