Quang Ninh (VNA) ▨– The second Mini ThailandWeek kicked off in the northern province of Quang Ninh on March 16, showcasing outstandingThai products.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Thai Ambassador Nikorndej Balabkura said his country is Vietnam’s biggest trading partnerin ASEAN with bilateral trade reaching about 21.5 billion USD in 2022, up 2.8billion USD compared to the previous year. He expressed his hope that the two countries can elevatetrade value to 25 billion USD by 2025 as stated by leaders of the two sides. For his part, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Bui Van Khang said the event holds a great significance inbolstering the relations and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand ingeneral and Quang Ninh with Thai localities in particular, while promoting tradeactivities and development in the new context.

The event features 71 booths run by 61 Thai enterprises,representative offices and distribution agents in Vietnam. On display are a variety of quality products fromThailand, including food and beverages, household products, garments,jewelries, health and beauty products, decorative items and souvenirs, travelservices and more. Mini Thailand Week 2023 aims to promote bilateraltrade activities between Vietnamese importers and Thai exporters, and enhancemutual understanding between the two countries. The event, which will run until March 19, isbeing held by the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Centre, the Departmentof International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Office of Commercial Affairs under theRoyal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, the Royal Thai Government in cooperation withthe Vietnam National Trade Fair, and the Advertising company (Vinexad) underthe Ministry of Industry and Trade./.
