General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and Deputy Minister of National Defence, on October 31 received heads of ASEAN delegations who attended the first ASEAN Military Intelligence Community Leaders' Conference (AMICLC-1) in Hanoi.

The 21st ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (AMIM-21) took place in Vientiane, Laos, on September 3 with the attendance of representatives from 10 ASEAN countries as well as Timor-Lester as an observer.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged the military intelligence force to be a key force in protecting economic and scientific- technological development.
