Microsoft supports NGOs for access to new technologies

Microsoft Vietnam and its partners on June 11 introduced new technology trends and updated technological achievements for non-profit organisations (NGOs) in Vietnam at its annual NGO Connection Day.
Microsoft Vietnam and its partners on June 11 introduced new technologytrends and updated technological achievements for non-profitorganisations (NGOs) in Vietnam at its annual NGO Connection Day.

With the approach to and execution of solutions and device platformssuch as the Windows operating system and Windows Server, NGOs can reducecosts and time by investing in IT and focusing their resources to helpresolve current global challenges.

"Microsoft's support for theNGO community in Vietnam will be used to accelerate IT deployment andimprove skills and productivity, helping the NGOs manage IT governancemore effectively. Hence, the NGOs' staff can focus their resources onsupporting the community and helping the Vietnamese people connect withbetter opportunities and an improved lifestyle," said Vu Minh Tri,Microsoft Vietnam's General Director.

The event, organised byMicrosoft and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is one ofseveral global Microsoft initiatives adopted in 2005. It aims to raiseawareness among NGOs about the benefits of technology and ways ofachieving optimum benefits when deploying IT resources in an NGO. Italso aims to help NGOs enhance the efficiency of their operations.

InVietnam, Microsoft has donated its software to more than 100organisations, for a total value of approximately 12 million USD, sinceJuly 2014.-VNA

PM calls for cooperation with Swܫeden in nuclear energy tec♓hnology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
