Meeting looks into draft NA resolution for facilitating Nghe An’s development

Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong DinhHue chaired a meeting between the NA’s Party Delegation and the Standing Boardof the Nghe An provincial Party Committee on March 29, with a focus on a draftNA resolution for continuing to implement the Politburo’s resolution on thiscentral province’s development.
Addressing the event in Hanoi, the top legislator noted that onJuly 18, 2023, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW on the building anddevelopment of Nghe An by 2030, with a vision to 2045. With a long-term mindsetand vision, this resolution serves as an important political basis for theGovernment to submit a draft resolution on piloting some specific mechanismsand policies for Nghe An’s development to the NA for consideration andapproval.
Agreeing on the necessity for releasing a new resolution of theNA alongside the Politburo’s resolution, officials discussed the political andlegal bases and the time for issuance, along with the draft policiesto be proposed.
They stressed that the draft resolution must adhere toResolution No. 39-NQ/TW to include specific mechanisms and policies for maximisingthe province’s potential and advantages, and boosting comprehensive andfocus-driven development. Those policies also need to enable socio-economicdevelopment breakthroughs and have their reasonableness and feasibilityensured.
Chairman Hue asked the NA’s Committee for Legal Affairs to workwith the Ministry of Justice and the Government to propose the NA StandingCommittee include this draft resolution in the parliament’s law and ordinancebuilding programme so that it could be submitted to the NA at the comingseventh session.
Healso requested the Nghe An Party Committee’s Standing Board to take in opinionsraised at the meeting to perfect draft mechanisms and policies, which shouldincrease resources, enhance decentralisation, tackle local bottlenecks, and facilitatedevelopment breakthroughs./.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on September 30 attended a ceremony marking 60th annivesary of Vinh city, Nghe An province, and 235th anniversary of Phuong Hoang Trung Do - a citadel built by King Quang Trung (1752-1792) as he planned to move capital city from Phu Xuan (now Thua Thien - Hue) to the central province.
