Hanoi (VNA)🍷 – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Coordinating Council for Red River Delta Region, chaired the fifth meeting of the council in Hanoi on January 14, seeking ways for the region to secure double-digit growth and steadily enter a new era.

Participants reviewed the council's operations in 2024 and set tasks for 2025. The Hanoi Capital Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050 is set to be announced during the event. Opening the meeting, PM Chinh emphasised that in the coming period, the Red River Delta must achieve double-digit growth in order to join the whole country in entering a new era - the era of the nation’s rise for development, civilisation and prosperity as envisioned by Party General Secretary To Lam.
The council needs to assess what has been achieved and what has not since the fourth meeting; reviewing and analysing causes, challenges, and lessons learned from the leadership of ministries, agencies, and local authorities, he underlined, explaining that this will help build on successes, overcome limitations, and resolve obstacles. The Government leader said that in order to achieve double-digit growth, it is crucial to show high determination, great efforts, decisive actions, and a clear focus on priorities.
Noting that the average income of people in developed countries is approximately 13,800 USD per year, he said with the current growth rate, it will take Vietnam another 20 years to reach this level, while other countries will continue to raise their income standards. Therefore, it is necessary to seek measures to achieve double-digit growth, with clear tasks for central agencies and localities and close coordination among them, as well as a roadmap and plan to make breakthroughs in 2025, he said. The PM also noted that during the meeting, the Hanoi Capital Master Plan will be announced, highlighting that after a period, particularly the COVID-19 years, the country has completed all the 111 planning schemes, reflecting a significant endeavour of Party committees, local authorities, ministries, and agencies. He emphasised these plans must be implemented properly, maintaining stability and consistency. Moreover, it is crucial to set plans for the development of outer, underground, and maritime spaces to serve the nation's future growth./.
