Man in Hung Yen arrested for anti-State propaganda

Hung Yen province's Department of Public Security said on January 30 that its Investigation Security Agency has launched criminal proceedings against and arrested a local man for the charge of "making, storing, distributing, or disseminating information, documents, and items against the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" under Article 117 of the Penal Code.

Hung Yen (VNA) – Hung Yen province's Department of Public Security said on January 30 that its Investigation Security Agency has launched criminal proceedingsagainst and arrested a local man for the charge of "making, storing,distributing, or dis♈seminating information, documents, and items against theState of the Socialist R🦋epublic of Vietnam" under Article 117 of the PenalCode.

The arrestee is Pham Van Cho, born in 1964, residing in Lac Dao commune of Van Lam district. Earlier, the department’s cyber security division and hi-techcrime prevention and control found that from 2020 to November 2023, Cho managedand used Facebook accounts "Cho Pham Van" and "Nguyen MinhTan" to make livestreams, post, and share many video clips defaming theParty and State and insulting leaders. The acts are violations prescribed in point C, clause 1, Article 16 of theLaw on Cyber Security. At the Investigation Security Agency, Cho admitted that he was themanager of the Facebook accounts and used them to broadcast livestreams, andpost and share video clips that seriously offended the Party, State, andleaders. The case is under further investigation in accordance with the law./.
