Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - Malaysia'scentral bank - Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) - has increased the OvernightPolicy Rate (OPR) by 25 basis points to 2.25%.
Theceiling and floor rates of the corridor of the OPR correspondingly rose to2.5% and 2%, respectively, BNM said in a statement on July 6.
It said thatthe reopening of the global economy and the improvement in labour marketconditions continue to support the recovery of economic activity.
BNM's move comes asMalaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob recently affirmed that hisgovernment will seek measures to tackle the rising of commoditiesprices.
