Malaysia to lift ATM operating hour restrictions

Malaysia will lift restrictions on Automated Teller Machine (ATM) operating hours between 8am and 8pm, implemented during the Movement Control Order (MCO) and Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), on June 1.
KualaLumpur (VNA) – Malaysia will lift restrictions on Automated TellerMachine (ATM) operating hours between 8am and 8pm, implemented during theMovement Control Order (MCO) and Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), onJune 1. 

Senior Minister cum DefenceMinister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said on May 31 that ATM operating hourswill return to normal on June 1 as per banks' practices.

TheMalaysian Government had enforced the 8am to 8pm ruling on April 19, followingfindings by the police that many were out late at night on the pretext ofwanting to make money withdrawals from ATMs. 

 “The public, however, must keep complying withsocial distancing protocols while using the ATMs,” he said at the daily mediabriefing on the CMCO here today. 

By the end of May 30, Malaysia had confirmed 7,762 COVID-19 cases,including 115 deaths./.
