Kuala Lumpur (VNA) –
The Government ofMalaysia is eyeing to put in place a proper policy for foreign workers, said PrimeMinister Mahathir Mohamad.

There are many wrong things regarding to therecruitment of foreign workers in Malaysia, the PM was quoted by the MalaysianNational News Agency (Bernama) as saying on June 28.

He cited the example of a company being giventhe rights to bring in overseas workers without undergoing a proper tenderprocess, and making a lot of money along the way.

A proper policy will help address this issue, hesaid.

He affirmed that Malaysia welcomes skilledforeign workers, especially those in new technology and information technology,to come and live in the Southeast Asian country.

“If the foreigners come with certain skills thatwe want, we would invite them to stay in this country and even become citizensif they want to,” he said.-VNA
