Hanoi (VNA)♋ – Three foreign fishing vessels captured for illegal catching in the Malaysia waters will be sunk near Lang Tengah ocean park in Besut to form artificial reefs.

The State Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) handed over the three ships, valued at 320,000 USD, to the Terengganu Maritime Department on September 23, New Straits Times reported.  In July this year, Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry Ahmad Shabery Cheek declared that his country may apply radical measures to tackle poaching like Indonesia. However, instead of burning detained foreign fishing vessels, Malaysia will sink them to create artificial reefs.-VNA
