Malaysia, Singapore boost bilateral cooperation

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on May 4 began a two-day visit to Singapore for the sixth regular Malaysia-Singapore leaders’ retreat, according to a press release by Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

PM Razak and his Singaporean counterpart LeeHsien Loong will discuss bilateral issues and review the progress oftheir current cooperation, including initiatives achieved in theMalaysia-Singapore leaders retreat in 2014.

During his trip, the Malaysian PM will also meet with representatives ofthe Malaysia Association in Singapore and attend a dialogue withleading and influential business leaders in Singapore.

He is expected to speak at the Economic Society of Singapore on the evening of May 5.

In 2014, Singapore was Malaysia’s second biggest trade partner with a trade volume of 59.5 billion USD.-VNA
