Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysian PrimeMinister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he is looking forward to working withhis Thai counterpart Prayut Chan-o-cha, to further advance the deep andlong-standing bilateral relations between the two countries.

Anwar was responding on Facebook to a congratulatory message from Prayut on hisappointment as Malaysia’s 10th prime minister.

In his note, Prayut said he is looking forward to working closely to furtherenhance bilateral relations, including cooperation at the regional andinternational levels, expressing the belief that Malaysia will soundly progressand prosper under Anwar’s vision and leadership.

The Thai PM hoped the neighbourly and fruitful ties between Thailand andMalaysia will continue to grow and yield many extensive mutual benefits for theirpeople and the region.

Anwar, 75, took his oath of office as prime minister on November 24.

In Februar✅y this year, Malaysia and Thailand reaffirmed theircommitment to promote bilateral trade and investme💃nt, working closely toachieve the bilateral trade target of 30 billion USD by 2025./.
