Hanoi (VNA) – The time for reviewing and granting visas for foreignstudents in Malaysia will be reduced from 30 days to 14 days.

Deputy PrimeMinister and Minister of Home Affairs Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the issue wasdecided in a senior meeting on receiving foreign students.

He saidMalaysia will send 10 more officials to its immigration department to increase staffserving the granting of visas for foreign students.

The Malaysiangovernment also agreed to grant visas for students’ parents or guardians,especially those from the Middle East, enabling them to take care of theirchildren in the country.
