KualaLumpur (VNA) - MalaysianPrime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin met with visiting Chinese State Councilor andDefense Minister Wei Fenghe in Kuala Lumpur on September 7, during which they discussedcooperation between the two countries.
Muhyiddincongratulated China on its success in containing the COVID-19 outbreak. Withthe support from China, Malaysia has become one of the first countries in theworld to control the outbreak, he said, expressing his hope that the twocountries will continue cooperatingin the pandemic fight.
Malaysiais willing to work with China to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fieldsincluding defence, economy, trade, and education, among others, Muhyiddin said.
Forhis part, Wei said the friendship between China and Malaysia has a longhistory, and bilateral relationship has always enjoyed healthy and stabledevelopment.
Chinaand Malaysia have rendered assistance to each other during the COVID-19outbreak, and taken the lead to push for economic and social recovery whileadvancing pragmatic cooperation in all fields, Wei said.
