Malaysia, China commit to promoting regional cooperation

- Chinese State Councilor andForeign Minister Qin Gang and Malaysia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Zambry AbdKadir committed to promoting regional cooperation during their talks in Beijingon March 28.

Qin said that China and Malaysia, both as developingcountries and important emerging economies in Asia and progressive forces onthe international stage, should further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation,consolidate friendship, work together to cope with risks and challenges, andcontribute more to global and regional peace, stability, development andprosperity, China’s Xinhua news agency reported.

Qin called on both sides to speed up key projects andexplore more cooperation in areas such as new-energy vehicles, digital economy,semiconductors and agriculture.

Zambry Abd Kadir said Malaysian Prime Minister DatukSeri Anwar Ibrahim's upcoming official visit to China will bring the twocountries' friendship to a higher level.

The Malaysian foreign minister said Malaysia iswilling to work with China to jointly safeguard regional peace and stabilityand foster a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

The Malaysian PM will pay an official visit to China fromMarch 30 to April 1 and attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023./.
