Nam,world No 640, has earned a berth in the main round. His rival will beidentified following the qualification.
Namalso participated in this clay-court tournament last year and entered thequarterfinal round.
Histeammate Trinh Linh Giang also registered at the tournament but had to startfrom the qualification round.
Giangwas defeated on Sunday by Wu Tung-lin of Chinese Taipei 4-6, 1-6 in the firstmatch. Wu is the No 2 seed in the qualifier.
This year, the tournament has attracted a numberof players from the world’s top 500, such as Danilo Petrovic (Serbia), JoseStatham (New Zealand) and Marco Bortolotti (Italia).The event will end onFebruary 19.-VNA

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
