Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese tennis aceLy Hoang Nam is still inside the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP)’s top500 tennis players in early 2018.
Compared to the rankings of late 2017, Namdropped one place to the 498th in the men’s singles rankings.
It is likely that the Vietnamese player willcontinue to fall in the rankings next week as he failed to win points at the F5Futures international tennis championship in China’s Hong Kong at the end of2017.
Nam is participating in the F6 Futuresinternational tennis champ 2018 in China’s Hong Kong from January 1-6. He wonin the first round of men’s singles but was knocked out at the same stage of themen’s doubles.-VNA
Ly Hoang Nam, the sole Vietnamese player left at the Vietnam F2 Men’s Futures tennis tournament’s singles event in Binh Dương province, has secured a berth in the quarter-finals.
Vietnam’s Ly Hoang Nam booked his spot in the quarter-finals of the Vietnam F3 Futures tennis tournament in the southern province of Binh Duong on November 23.
Vietnamese tennis ace Ly Hoang Nam has risen to 495th spot in the ATP’s tennis rankings after he finished runner-up in the Vietnam F3 Futures event and was knocked out in the quarter-finals of the F3 tournament.
This year’s tournament has gathered over 300 coaches, athletes, and referees from 18 countries and territories, competing in 28 combat weight categories and eight performance categories. Vietnam’s team has 50 athletes, including six from Thai Nguyen province.
It is the first time that the country is to hold a G1-level tournament which is expected to lure more than 100 athletes of 15 countries and regions at Go Vap Gymnasium.
Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen has made history for Vietnam’s dancesport by clinching a bronze medal in the solo Latin category at the WDSF World Championship 2025 in Germany.
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
