Looking back on President Ho Chi Minh’s stay in Thailand
Late President Ho Chi Minh spent the early days after returning from Europe in the northern Thai province of Phichit to prepare for the establishment of a single party in Vietnam.

Bangkok (VNA) - Late President Ho Chi Minhspent the early days after returning from Europe in the northern Thai provinceof Phichit to prepare for the establishment of a single party in Vietnam.
After his 17-year journey for national salvation,President Ho arrived in Bangkok in July 1928 and began efforts to promotepatriotism among the Vietnamese community.
While in Bangkok, he often stayed at Vietnamese pagodassuch as Mongkhol Samalkhol, Somsanam Boriharn, and Locunukho.
He then moved to Ban Dong in Phichit, which has morethan 20 Vietnamese families in one hamlet, and organised meetings there.
He and some of his comrades then headed to the northeastof Thailand, where many Vietnamese people were also living.
The President brought a breath of fresh air to the patrioticmovement among overseas Vietnamese, winning the love, respect, and admiration notonly of the Vietnamese but also of local authorities.
In December 2013, local authorities began constructionof the President Ho Chi Minh relic site and museum within the Thailand-VietnamFriendship Centre in Ban Dong.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Thai Ministerof Tourism and Sports Weerasak Kowsurat and Phichit Governor WeerasakWichitsaengsri said the site would contribute to tightening the relationshipbetween the two countries.
Located 350 km from Bangkok, the site is the third dedicatedto President Ho in Thailand, along with two others in Udon Thani and NakhonPhanom. It attracts thousands of Vietnamese in Thailand and from around theworld./.
Throughout his revolutionary life dedicated to national liberation and human liberation, President Ho Chi Minh confirmed the message of international friendship and solidarity.
On June 11, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh issued an appeal for patriotic emulation. That has strongly encouraged the people to emulate in all aspects of social life, creating great strength for the whole Party, people and army to overcome hardships and lead the Vietnamese revolution to the victory.
