Long Thanh airport feasibility report requires joint efforts: PM
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the southern province of Dong Nai to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Transport, investors, and relevant agencies in building, assessing, and completing the feasibility report on the Long Thanh International Airport project.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the southern provinceof Dong Nai to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Transport, investors,and relevant agencies in building, assessing, and completing the feasibility reporton the Long Thanh International Airport project.
Jointefforts should be made to successfully implement the project’s plans, coveringbomb and mine clearance, land clearance, and the building of traffic routes toserve construction, he said.
Long Thanh International Airport has a total areaof more than 5,580 ha, spread across six communes in Long Thanh district, DongNai province. It is set to have a total investment of 336.63 trillion VND (14.8billion USD), with construction divided into three phases.
In the first phase, a runway, passengerterminal, and other supporting works will be built to serve some 25 millionpassengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo each year. This phase is hoped to befinished by 2025.
In the second phase, an additional runway andpassenger terminal will be constructed to serve 50 million passengers and 1.5million tonnes of cargo per year.
After the third phase, the airport will be ableserve 100 million passengers and 5 million tonnes of cargo annually. –VNA
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has asked for the feasibility report on the Long Thanh International Airport project to be completed and submitted soon so that it can be considered by the National Assembly in late 2019, ensuring that the construction of the project starts in 2020 as scheduled.
Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The has asked the consultancy agencies of Long Thanh international airport to complete the project’s feasibility study by May 30, so the ministry can consider and verify it before submitting to the Government in early June.
The southern province of Dong Nai has asked the Government to allocate more than 400 billion VND (17.23 million USD) to build two roads that would connect the province's National Road No. 51 up to Long Thanh International Airport, which is expected to start construction next year.
