Long Thanh Airport - an ambitious project of Vietnamese Government

Long Thanh International Airport project consists of three phases, with 4 runways, 4 passenger terminals and auxiliary facilities.
During the 9th Meeting session, the 13th National Assembly officially approved the Resolution on Investment policy of Long Thanh International Airport project. Long Thanh International Airport project consists of three phases, with 4 runways, 4 passenger terminals and auxiliary facilities, which can ensure the airport’s ability to serve about 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year.
Of which, the first phase has investment of more than VND 111,600 billion focusing on a runway, a passenger terminal. It is hoped to launch operation by 2025. The project uses many modern construction and technology solutions.
Long Thanh International Airport is expected to be the solution for Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s overload. In the first phase, Long Thanh Airport will mainly focus on meeting the demands of the southern key economic regions. By 2030, if Phase 2 is completed, Long Thanh Airport only then will have the initial competition ability as an international air hub of the region./.
