Long An, RoK’s Chungcheongnam-do step up cooperation

Long An (VNA) – The Mekong Delta province of Long An and the Republicof Korea (RoK)’s Chungcheongnam-do will enhance socio-economic collaborationunder an agreement inked between leaders of both sides in the Vietnameselocality on April 4.
Accordingly, the two provinces have set up collaborative ties on the basis onmutual respect, benefits and equality. They will work to promote mutualunderstanding amongst local people; boost experience sharing; and fostercooperation across the fields of economy, culture, science-technology,education, tourism, and environmental protection, among others.
Hosting a reception for the RoK’s delegation, Secretary of the provincial PartyCommittee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Pham Van Ranh askedfor Chungcheongnam-do’s support in Korean language training for local officials,firefighting and rescue vehicles, development of public administration ande-government, and high-quality human resources training.
Ranh also introduced the province’s potential in agriculture, industry, trade,and services to his guest, saying that the province expects to welcome RoKinvestment in these fields.
Yoo Byung Kook, Chairman of the RoK province’s council, said that he respectedthe sound relations between the two localities.
He expressed his hope that following his visit to Long An province, businessesof both sides will have more chances to cooperate in trade and investment.
Chungcheongnam-do, located in the west of the RoK, holds strengths in scienceand technology, and has successfully applied advanced technologies inagriculture, automobile production and assembly, and manufacturing ofsupporting products. It is also one of the country’s pioneers in paying dueattention to e-government development and using high technology in healthcareand education. –VNA
The People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City and its counterpart of Busan city in the Republic of Korea (RoK) have signed an agreement on establishing friendship and cooperative ties towards further contributing to the relations between the two cities.
Vietnam’s central coastal province of Thua Thien-Hue is cooperating with localities in the Republic of Korea (RoK) in various fields such as planning, health, tourism, and industry.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
