Libya wishes to strengthen multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA)ꩵ – Mohamed Al-Menfi, President of the Libyan Presidential Council, said Libya wishes to strengthencooperation with Vietnam in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energyand infrastructure.
He expressed the wish during a meeting on June 22 with the new Vietnamese Ambassador toEgypt and Libya, Nguyen Huy Dung, following the ambassador's presentation of his letter of credentials.
The Libya leader said that the situation in Libya will soon return to normal as people and businessesin the North African country have resumed economic activities.
𒊎 For his part, the Vietnamese diplomat said he will do his utmostto contribute to promoting the two countries' relations towards multi-faceted cooperation in line with the aspirations and interestsof their people.
He highlighted that the traditional friendship between Vietnamand Libya has been consolidated and developed over the past nearly 50 years, and noted that the two countries have a lot of potential and opportunities forcooperation in many fields, especially trade, investment, energy, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges. For the cooperation between thetwo countries to achieve practical results, the businesscommunities of Vietnam and Libya need to enhance connection and share cooperative opportunities,Dung said. Vietnam and Libya officially established diplomaticrelations on March 15, 1975. The two countries actively support each other inregional and international forums, especially within the framework of theUnited Nations (UN). Vietnam and Libya have great potential for cooperation invarious fields, especially economy, trade and investment. However, their bilateraltrade exchange is still modest and not commensurate with the cooperation potentialof the two sides./.
