Legal documents for UKVFTA implementation to be released

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) will finalise and issue a number of legal documents needed for the implementation of the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) in 2021.

Hanoi(VNA) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) will finalise and issue anumber of legal documents needed for the implementation of the UK-Vietnam FreeTrade Agreement (UKVFTA) in 2021.

Under a plan approvedrecently by Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, the minisry willbuild particular market development programmes for Vietnamese products withstrength and potential for export to the UK, while providing guidelines and supportto enterprises so they clearly understand the methods of approach and make the best use of advantages brought about by the deal.

The ministrywill continue increasing online trade promotions, which have been appliedeffectively for the realisation of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreementfor Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA),thus presenting more opportunities for Vietnamese firms to engage deeply inproduction and value chains involving UK businesses and expanding their links regionallyand globally.
It will also speedup the building, amendment, and issuance of legal documents relating to theimplementation of commitments within the UKVFTA with a suitable roadmap.

Training courses will be organised and publications released introducing andanalysing the deal, while help will be given to businesses and organisations toparticipate in large-scale trade promotions in the UK and such promotions will be increasedthrough e-commerce platforms. The origin tracing app will be maintained toserve exporters.

At the same time, the MoIT will deal with all mattersarising during the implementation of the deal, according to the plan./.
